As Winterfest presented by Symetra comes to an end, celebrate our final event on New Year’s Eve. Seattle Center is the place to be for our free New Year’s Eve Celebration offers entertainment and festivities across our grounds. Pop by the Armory between 8pm and midnight and hear the soulful sounds of premier Northwest band Groove Nation. At 10pm, head out to International Fountain for a Fountain of Light show featuring DJ Supreme La Rock.

Just before midnight, find your spot outside to view T-Mobile New Year’s at the Needle, the Space Needle’s drone and pyrotechnic extravaganza. The expanded 16-minute show will begin seven minutes before midnight with a performance by 500 drones leading to the largest structurally launched firework show in North America.

For the first time ever, Portland and Spokane will join the countdown to 2024. Viewers at home can tune-in to the live one-hour broadcast starting at 11:30PM on KING 5 in Seattle, KGW 8 in Portland, and KREM 2 in Spokane.

Revelers at Seattle Center will be able to watch the Space Needle become a canvas for impressive 10-minute light shows happening at 10:00PM, 10:30PM, 11:00PM and 11:30PM.

As the clock strikes midnight, T-Mobile New Year’s at the Needle celebration will feature drone light formations in the Seattle skies. The captivating drone formations — with 200 drones designed to integrate with the fireworks and light displays being launched and projected off the Space Needle — will fly between 200 and 600 feet above ground, directly north of the Space Needle. The coordinated drone effects are best seen from the Seattle Center campus grounds.

Need to Know

Exclusion Zones

An exclusion zone will be in place for public safety purposes related to live fireworks. Visitors should expect progressively limited access to the grounds from entryways in the vicinity of the Space Needle beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 31.

Monorail Service

Seattle Center Monorail service will be available to connect to downtown transit services and parking on the following schedule: in service until 11pm; out of service for safety purposes related to live fireworks, 11pm-12:20am (approximately). The final monorail train will depart Seattle Center for downtown at 1am. Passengers must access the Monorail via the southwest doors of the Armory.

Seattle Center Armory Hours

Seattle Center Armory will be open on New Year’s Eve, and eateries inside the Food & Event Hall will provide service until 11:30pm. The building will remain open through 1am to accommodate Seattle Center Monorail riders and those in need of a rest room stop.

Traffic Congestion Alert

We expect heavy pedestrian and vehicle congestion in the Seattle Center surrounding area related to the several New Year's Eve free and ticketed events on the grounds. Consider all your transportation options if you are planning a visit to the area, and prepare for a long commute home after the fireworks.
