Seattle/King County Clinic Returns in 2023 With Free Dental, Vision & Medical Care, April 27-30

Volunteer Registration Now Open

SEATTLE (January 12, 2023)Seattle/King County Clinic returns to Seattle Center for its eighth year on April 27-30 including free dental, vision, and medical care for those who have difficulty accessing or affording healthcare.

Led by Seattle Center and Seattle Center Foundation, Seattle/King County Clinic brings together healthcare organizations, civic agencies, nonprofits, and private businesses to transform Seattle Center facilities into a healthcare operation. Licensed healthcare professionals and general support volunteers donate their time and expertise with a goal of helping 3,000 people in need during the four-day period.

As one patient stated, “The financial burden of health care in America is prohibitive. Even for those of us working full-time with very basic health insurance, there are services I need that I can’t afford.”

Clinic organizers are seeking general support volunteers, healthcare professionals, social workers, health insurance navigators and interpreters to fill a range of volunteer functions and shifts. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Individuals may register at seattlecenter.org/volunteers.

“In a time of societal unrest, it is so rewarding being involved in an effort that brings people together, that celebrates humanity with all its variations and allows us to care for one another” said a previous clinic volunteer.

Seattle/King County Clinic is made possible through thousands of donated work hours as well as cash and in-kind contributions. In its first seven years, that support helped the clinic provide more than $20 million in direct services to 24,000 patients. Donations are accepted at seattlecenter.org/donations.

One clinic partner expressed, “We are helping people, we are changing their lives. You can see it in their faces, you can hear it in their stories. It is absolutely life changing as a volunteer and a partner in this work to be able to be involved it.”

“Everyone deserves access to affordable, quality medical care, but too often people face barriers to getting the care they need,” said Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell. “Seattle/King County Clinic is made possible thanks to hundreds of volunteers and organizations who donate their time and resources to serve others and is an example of how we can foster healthy, thriving communities by coming together through partnership and collaboration.”
