A cast of five standout Seattle musical theatre performers, joined by a live band, perform a compelling new song cycle drawn from the real words of people in BIPOC immigrant communities.
The Golden Door draws from a series of interviews conducted by composer Shaudi Bianca Vahdat with members of BIPOC immigrant communities in the US. Using these interviews, historical documents, and her own identity as a second generation Iranian-American, Shaudi has crafted a series of songs honoring, exploring, and finding joy in these diverse tales of coming to the US.
