Enjoy and experience the rich cultures of the Asian-Pacific Islander communities through song, dance, music, art and displays. The festival launches Asian-Pacific Islander Heritage Month in Seattle with spectacular lion dances, youth drill teams, martial arts, taiko drums and incredible artists from around the state. Presented by the Asian-Pacific Directors Coalition.

COLORS: The Asian-Pacific culture includes 15 countries with many flags and colors. MOST POPULAR FOODS: Rice, noodles, fish/seafood and vegetables. GREATEST SOURCE OF CULTURAL PRIDE: In each culture the people are proud of their traditional attire and their music and dances. LIVELIHOOD: Many of the Islander nations are becoming fairly industrialized, but historically they maintained a large agricultural base and created various products for export.

Seattle Center Festál, a series of 22 world festivals presented at Seattle Center on weekends throughout 2010, highlights the distinct cultures and common threads of ethnic communities in our region through traditional and contemporary art, music, foods, youth activities, workshops and more.
