Korea’s traditional Harvest Festival Day offers festival-goers insight into this country’s cultural evolution and contemporary culture through folk songs, dance, Tae Kwon Do demonstrations, traditional harvest foods, films and exhibits. Presented by the Korean-American Art & Cultural Association of the Pacific Northwest.

COLORS OF THE KOREAN CULTURE: Blue, Red, White, Black. MOST POPULAR FOODS: Korean cuisine is largely based on rice, noodles, tofu, vegetables and meats. Traditional Korean meals are noted for the number of side dishes (banchan) that accompany steam-cooked short-grain rice. Kimchi, a fermented, spicy vegetable dish is usually served at every meal. GREATEST SOURCE OF CULTURAL PRIDE: Cultural identity, very colorful history. LIVELIHOOD: IT (Samsung) and Shipbuilding.
