Give thanks this year at a celebration of Korea’s traditional Harvest Festival Day, called Ch’usok, at the Korean Cultural Celebration. Festival-goers gain insight into this country’s cultural evolution through folk songs, dance, Tae Kwon Do demonstrations, films and exhibits. This one-day event includes an elaborate exhibit of award-winning student artworks and a KACAPN members exhibition. Presented by the Korean-American Art & Cultural Association of the Pacific Northwest (KACAPN).

Did you know?

Sandra Oh is one of Canada’s most acclaimed actresses, known for her roles on the big and small screens. Born in Ontario in 1971 to Korean immigrant parents, Oh studied acting and ballet from a young age; and in high school, played the flute and served as class president. She rejected a four-year journalism scholarship in order to study drama at the prestigious Montreal Theatre School. After graduating, she starred in stage productions and in two television films. Oh has won several Genie and Screen Actors Guild awards and a Golden Globe. She has been nominated for an Emmy Award four times. She is known to American audiences for her role as Dr. Cristina Yang on the series "Grey’s Anatomy." She also played notable roles in the films "Under the Tuscan Sun"and "Sideways."

Safeco Insurance Festál, presented by Seattle Center in partnership with community organizations, is a year-long series of FREE events that honors the cultural richness and diversity of the Pacific Northwest. Safeco Insurance Festál plays a vital part in Seattle Center efforts to connect our dynamic and varied communities.

This collection of 22 events is presented with the generous support of Safeco Insurance, Wells Fargo, Verizon Wireless and KUOW 94.9 Public Radio. Additional support is provided by The Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, The Boeing Company, Seattle Center Fund and the City of Seattle.
