Sunday, August 22 line-up:

Sistas Rock the Arts

Sistas Rock the Arts

Sistas Rock the Arts is a collective of talented and fabulous local artists who represent Black Girl Magic through music, spoken word, dance, and a variety of artistic expressions.

Since 2015, Sistas Rock the Arts (SRTA), has been producing weekly events, jams and community gatherings, building a robust multigenerational ecosystem of Black and Brown musicians and artists in the heart of South Seattle. Attendees come from as far south as Tacoma and as far north as Everett to participate, and this foundation has kept Black community centered and inspired in the midst of a rapidly gentrifying area. In response to the pandemic, SRTA paused only one week before adapting its format to remote broadcast, becoming a vital connection point for many, over months of isolation and social distancing. Their events are drama free and a beacon for love, respect, humanity and the arts in whichever way the artists feel led to share, which is why they have been going strong with an amazing team of core artists that go above and beyond for the Black community.

DJ Kole

DJ Kole is a DJ/producer from Chicago, who has dedicated his life to music for over 30+ years. With that same intensity, he is also committed to helping at-risk youth. During an afterschool program, DJ Kole taught middle school kids how to DJ.

APPEARANCE CANCELLED - Guzo Band (ጉዞ በአንድ)
Guzo Band

“GUZO” is an Amharic word meaning journey. Guzo Band is an exciting new group of diverse singers and instrumentalists from Ethiopia and Eritrea. Their music is a unique blend of traditional and contemporary sounds, dynamic and very danceable. Even though all members started their music journey (GUZO) in different roads and performed for more than 10 years with Ethiopian and Eritrean legend singers, they came together in 2021 to bring the authentic cultural music to live. Their launch as Guzo Band was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, pushing their first live performance to July 4th of this year. GUZO band performance is all about enjoyment and bringing everybody together as human race.
