Utterly enjoyable from first sip to last, this fizzy concoction is opera’s most winning comedy. A love-struck bumpkin is about to lose the company of a rich and independent landowner. Crossing paths with a quack doctor, he’s duped in more ways than one. Wine, a windfall, and a fateful furtive tear eventually reveal happy truths as sincerity triumphs amid much rejoicing. Madison Leonard, Michael Adams, Patrick Carfizzi, and Tess Altiveros will be joined by conductor Carlo Montanaro, pianists, and musicians from Seattle Symphony Orchestra in a staging by David Gately designed especially for online streaming.
Online stream recorded on the McCaw Hall stage at Seattle Center Studios available to season ticket holders from November 13–December 4, 2020. Subscriptions to our 2021 Spring Season are on sale and include this program and our full 2020 virtual fall season.
