One of the longest running Festál events, Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the long friendship between the people of Japan and Washington State and serves as a harbinger of springtime at the Center. Imaginative programming over the years and stunning visual arts attract large and appreciative audiences.

Seattle Cherry Blossom and Japanese Cultural Festival has been pioneering the co-existence of grassroots introduction of ancient and contemporary traditions of Japan with hands-on experiences, tastes, and visual/performing opportunities.

Current efforts are directed towards innovative and in-depth outreach of not only the above but incorporating science/technology and cultural examinations of race and social justice of Japanese in America, Japanese Americans, Japanophiles and those we interact in our daily lives.  Interaction remains an integral aspect of the festival.
