September 11 Memorial Garden


Installed: 2002

Description: Located on the western side of the South Fountain Lawn. This garden was created, in part, with tulip bulbs donated by the region’s bulb growers to honor those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 tragedies in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania. The compost forming the garden came from over one million flowers deposited at the International Fountain Flower Vigil immediately following the tragedies. Dedicated September 11, 2002.
