Description: The Grass Blades, located at the Harrison Street turnaround north of EMP. This new addition to campus was designed by John Fleming of rohleder-borges-fleming architecture. The 110 laminated steel reeds are 30 feet high and ½- 1 ½” thick. The thickest sections are at the bottom and the Grass Blades are meant to sway with the wind to create a graceful, organic design using inorganic material. The sculpture creates a visual separation between the pedestrian corridor and the Memorial Stadium parking lot. Installed Sept. 2002.
